Create a Custom Realistic Steel Texture in C4D

By September 12, 2014No Comments

Sean Frangella shows us how to create a custom realistic steel texture in Cinema 4D.  Sean walks through setting up the textures in Photoshop,  creating the materials in Cinema 4D, and how to work with bump and reflectance modifiers.

Sean offers some grey tips as to look out for when acquiring your own texture sources from photographs. This tutorial is a great look at a pragmatic use for the new C4D reflectance parameter launched in R16. This new feature not only makes creating surfaces much easier, but also provides a more realistic result in many cases.
