Linking Xpresso and Deformers for Motion Graphics in Cinema 4D

Rene Czepluch has a look into using Xpresso and deformers in Cinema 4D for motion graphics work.

One example is a work through using Xpresso to make an object respond to rotation. This is done by piping the rotation values through to the twist deformer in C4D.

Another example Rene shows is how to use an object’s speed to affect it’s deformer. This can lead to a lot of interesting secondary motion in your animation, that you can essentially automate.

Rene also has a look at a third alternative. showing that the same effect is possible using a set up with a fracture object, inheritance effector and a delay effector and have Xpresso do the connections.
