By December 2, 2010No Comments

Henrique “Edmx” Montanari shares his MEL script for creating stretchy spines in Autodesk Maya. EDMX STRETCH SPINE was made to help to rig props and characters at the bug-a-booo gang (Turma do Penadinho). The Script allows to create a strechable chain with 4 or 6 joints and FK / IK blend. You first have to put the name that you want at the name field. Then choose 4 or 6 joints. You can turn the locators visibility ON and OFF if want to create a non straitgh chain. Put the Positioners in place. After done that, hit RIG. If you want to parent the chain at some object, just select the object that you want and click on the Parent Button. If you want to create another chain in the same scene, just repeat the process. It works in maya 2009, 2010 and 2011. Mac and Windows.
