Working With Nested Dielectrics With Octane in Cinema 4D

By August 2, 2022No Comments

SilverwingVFX covers one of the essentials in Octane Render, working with nested dielectrics.

Rendering liquid in a glass was so tricky that there needed to be a varying index of refractive values for each material, sometimes sharing the same 3D space.

Nested Dielectrics takes care of this problem, and most renderers will have such a feature. This new tutorial from SilverwingfVFX (Raphael Rau) covers working with nested dielectrics in Octane under Cinema 4D.

The tutorial covers things like Snell’s Law, how to set up nested dielectrics, create priorities, and how to use the clipping material to dial in a look.
