Robert Schroeder has created a script for fracturing geometry based on an image or a voronoi shader in Maya called Voronoi Texture Fracture 0.0.1. In actuality, the Maya script provides a handy interface that guides you through the process of creating an image based fracture using the SOuP Plugin from Peter Shipkov. the Voronoi Texture Fracture 0.0.1 script provides a GUI which guides you through the process of image based fracturing.
USAGE:

  • create a poly plane & add it to the GUI
  • click “Create Voronoi Shader” button OR choose an image as fracture source
  • adjust other option as needed
  • click “Fracture Geometry”
