Ian Townsend provides a handy little script ($2.00 purchase on TurboSquid (?)TS really?!?)). This Maya Script written in MEL will create transform nulls for all objects in a Maya Scene and will also bake any timewarp animation into the nulls giving you a nice export into After Effects. This script will also automatically create a playblast along with the export.
