Marco Giordano admits that he is not a PyQt Master by any sense; However, here Marco shows how to ad custom widgets to a QlistWidget for Maya using PyQt.

…In this quick tutorial I am going to show you how to add custom widgets to a QListWidget…

Qt (pronounced “cute”) is Nokia’s cross platform application and user interface framework which Maya has been using QT for some time now, making the task of creating custom cross-platform interfaces in Maya much easier than non-QT versions of Maya.

PyQt are the set of Python bindings for Nokia’s Qt framework and is developed by the British firm Riverbank Computing. The bindings are implemented as a set of Python modules and contain over 300 classes and over 6,000 functions and methods.

Actually it is also pronouced ‘Q-T’ like it’s spelled. And it’s no longer owned by Nokia. Digia just bought it up.

    • Thats how i pronounce it, so i was surprised that it was shown as “cute” as the official pronunciation online everywhere with QT listed as the unofficial. Anyway, its GIF vs JIF i guess 🙂
