Ingo Clemens (The Brave Rabbit) shares a Maya Displacement Deformer that he has created specifically for a project called iDisplace.

Just recently I was again in the need for a displacement deformer, but since Maya lacks such a basic deformer in it’s toolset I planned to use the great DisplaceD deformer, available on creativeCrash. Unfortunately the plugin doesn’t support Maya 2013, even though we are already halfway to Maya 2014

Ingo was looking for a displacement deformer for Maya, and previous offerings are no longer supported and don’t work in the more recent versions of Maya, so he took on the challenge to create a simple displacement deformer on his own. Ingo notes that his iDisplace for Maya may not be as robust as DisplaceD, but if you are looking for a simple displacement deformer to see displacements in the viewport, iDisplace is a handy little tool. Check out the page for iDisplace over at BraveRabbit for more information and download here.

The Brave Rabbit has been fantastic with providing some interesting tools for the Maya community, as well as some tips and tutorials, check out some previous posts we have for Ingo Clemens, The Brave Rabbit over the years here.
