Rigging and Animating Text With Joints in Cinema 4D

Seth Eckert has put together a short video description of how he created a logo word-mark in Cinema 4D, animating with the characters unfolding as if they were cardboard to come together to create the final wordmark.

Seth shows that there are more than a few ways to create anything in 3D, and here he is using Joints in Cinema 4D to rig up the parts of the letters so they can be animated with a suggestion of unfolding and coming together to create the letters in the logo. This method is simple to set up, and provides a level of control during animation that you may not get with some other methods.
