Mass Polygon Editing in Cinema 4D Using the Normal Transform Tools

By November 24, 2012No Comments

Jamie Hamel-Smith provides a look at using the Normal polygon editing tools in Cinema 4D for editing polygon models. The Normal Tools in Cinema 4D, such as the Normal Move, Normal Scale, and Normal Rotate will work along with the surface normal of a polygon face allowing you to transform polygons in a different manner than the standard Cinema 4D transform tools.

This video shows a few different ways to use the Normal Tools in Cinema 4D. These tools have been around for a while, so this tip should work in almost any version of C4D

Jamie explains the tools a bit, and offers a look at how you might use these Normal Tools in Cinema 4D to help along with your modeling workflow. Using the Surface Normal will allow you to make wholesale bulk type of changes, or as Jamie mentions, “Mass Editing” of polygons while modeling in Cinema 4D. Check out Jamie’s post for Mass Polygon Editing Using the Normal (Move, Rotate, Scale) Tools here.
