By December 5, 2012One Comment

Brian Moore provides a really quick and easy method for randomizing color change to multiple faces on an object in Cinema 4D by cleverly hacking together a few things.

Super quick tutorial on changing the color of the polygons in an object

The concept behind this tip for setting random colors to polygons in Cinema is to use a Mograph Fracture Object and a Shatter Deformer to detach the object’s polygons, and then simply use the Random Effector to facilitate the color changes. Brian does note that there are many ways to create this effect, although this technique may suit a specific purpose at certain times.
