Lucas Morgan shares his Render Stats Looper Script for Maya which will allow you to quickly toggle render stats for hundreds of objects in Maya with an automatic layer override as well.

Toggle render stats quickly on hundred of objects in seconds with automatic render layer overrides

The Render Stats Looper has a couple of functions, one being “Go!” which will run the current selection and applies the changes to the current render layer. If the current render layer is the masterLayer, then overrides are not set, if the current layer is anything other than masterLayer, then the render stats will be modified so that it will leave the original settings on other layers. There is also a “Remove All Overrides” function which will remove all the changes and revert a selection’s render stats back to the default state. Check out the Render Stats Looper for Maya here.
