VRayScatter 3 for Maya Adds New Instancing Type for Significantly Faster Performance

iCube R&D Group recently released a new version of VRayScatter Plugin for Maya which can easily create scenes that contain a large amount of objects quickly.

Working in conjunction and along side VRayProxy memory, VRayScatter is able to upload and download VRayProxies when needed. With VRayScatter, you can populate a cityscape, forest, rocky terrain easily even with support for animated objects.

VRayScatter for Maya is a plug-in for V-Ray rendering system. With this plug-in, it is possible to create complicated scenes with a huge amount of objects easy and quickly

Most notably, VRayScatter 3 introduces some new instancing types. Using a brand new algorithm for them providing better memory efficiency while adding significantly faster performance for scenes with more than 100,000 objects.

VRayScatter 3 for Maya also introduces a “Node” instancing type which allows for the scattering of displaced or smoothed geometry inside of Maya while also providing motion blur when using animated VRayProxy.

VRayScatter 3 for Maya is available for €150.00 (roughly $200) placing it roughly inline with e-on’s new Carbon Scatter tools, and VRayScatter 3 works with most all platforms adding OSX, Linux and Windows Plugins, and works with Maya versions as far back as 2009.
