Faking a Dynamic String in Cinema 4D using MoGraph and Xpresso

By March 29, 2013No Comments

Essentially “faking” a dynamics simulation of a dynamic string, here is a quick animation tip from Craig Whitaker who was looking to have flowers on a string of falling in Cinema 4D, however he didn’t want to wait for the simulation to calculate; He was also looking for a technique for doing this that would provide him more control over the art direction of how the simulation played out.

A quick tip demonstrating a technique to fake a dynamic string. Cloning onto the string and using XPresso

Craig’s solution was to use a spline, and clone the flowers onto the spline using MoGraph, and then have the null control the bounce and animation of the flowers using some Xpresso, and also provides some tips for avoiding issues that will occur when using this technique.
