Demonstrating how to track in a city shot into some footage, Imagineer Systems Product Manager Martin Brennand walks through using Mocha’s 3D Camera tracker and apply the 3D information to a 3D card in Nuke.

Imagineer Systems Product Manager Martin Brennand takes you through setting up a camera solve in mocha Pro, then exporting to FBX

Using a shot that has some parallax in the scene, Martin shows how to get a parallax solve using multiple layers in Mocha providing more information for Mocha to work with.

This is a great look at using a mix of techniques in Mocha to track, starting with unlinking a spline layer to attain continual tracking information from a section of the shot, and then relinking the layer so the spline will move along with the recorded track.

Tracking Strategic areas of the shot will help the 3D Camera Tracker in Mocha solve for Parallax. Once the shot is tracked, Martin shows how to export the tracking data, providing some tips on FBX settings for best use with Nuke.

With part two of the tutorial, Martin continues showing how to import the footage, 3D tracking data from Mocha, and creates a 3D Card in Nuke which will be used for the set extension.
