Raf Anzovin posts some new previews for the Maya Rigging Tools project that is deep in production.  Anzovin Rig Tools for Maya (ART),  promises to be fundamental shift in character rigging from the current hodge-podge designed workflows typically involved associated rigging a character for animation.

Anzovin Rig Tools is a simple and powerful way to rig characters. Unlike auto-rig tools like The Setup Machine, which organizes existing Maya rig nodes to provide a pre-defined rig, ART provides it’s own nodes, letting you build characters from the ground up with new bones and deformers

Anzovin Rigging Tools is such a departure from traditional rigging in Maya, it is being dubbed the rigging tools for the 21st century offering its own suite of nodes in Maya with spline based rigging and deformation, weight painting and built in pose-space deformation and muscle systems, all designed to work with and complement each other like photoshop layers.

One of the previews shows an example of using stretch ART bones to build a simple muscle system, and using the pose-space deformer to sculpt the shape of an elbow, while the other takes a look at using the constrain transformation node demonstrating how easy it will be to create multi-layered rigs using the Anzovin Rigging tools.
