Mat Clark has updated his Lattice Tool for Maya into a new and completely different beast, polishing it into the Super Lattice Modifier for Maya which now does real time updating and does away with the refresh button.

another Lattice tool….. it’s new and improved, it’s Super Lattice Modifier

Originally based on the Lattice Modifier in 3DS Max, Mat Clark developed the first Lattice Tool for Maya providing a control object and an interface to create polygon lattices based on the initial translation and rotation of the control object.

The Super Lattice Modifier represents a more streamlined effort and approaches the problem of creating a lattice from given geometry in a completely different manner from the previous script, now using Maya’s PaintFX, which provides real time updates of lattice edges on all transformation and additions.

The new tool will also allow you to extend the lattice edges beyond the edges of the control object, and sports a brand new interface with a choice of corner node connecting shapes. To find out more and download, check out the still-freeware Super Lattice Modifier for Maya here.
