With the latest update in VRayforC4D 1.8 which incorporates some of the latest features in V-Ray 2.0 in Cinema 4D, Josef Bsharah adds another addition to his “what’s new” series, this time offering a look and an exploration through the V-Ray Car Paint Material.

One of the interesting new additions of VRayforC4D 1.8 is the integration of the VRay car paint Mtl which we can use for a variety of different objects and surfaces

Like most physical car paint material shaders, the VRayCarPaintMtl can simulate metallic car paint with an all-in-one material offering a base layer, glossy layer, a layer adding metallic flakes and a clear coat layer, allowing you to tweak each of the layers separately.

Josef walks through the options in the material and also offers a free Car paints Kit that has a bunch of preset car paint material shaders for download.
