Getting to Know Mesh Fusion

Mesh Fusion in Modo has proved to be a real game changer for creating complex and irregular forms quickly. The best part of it, is the fact that it is super easy to use, so ideally you can get up and running without to much investment in figuring things out. Mesh Fusion has many layers, allowing you to dive into it more, giving you much more power over how you work.

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how Modo’s brand new modeling plugin Mesh Fusion, can be used to create extremely complex shapes in a matter of minutesTomasz Lechocinski – CGTuts.com

Here, Tomasz Lechocinski provides a great look at working with Modo’s new boolean tool, showing how easy it is to quickly shape and build a complex model that would have been otherwise a pain to create normally. Tomasz also dives a bit deeper showing you Mesh Fusion’s capabilities and workflow. Check out the tutorial for Working with Mesh Fusion in Modo here.

Mesh Fusion in Modo

It was around 8 months ago, when The Foundry posted a tease of some new boolean capabilities they were playing with. This was the humble beginnings of Braid Art Labs’ Groboto boolean technology directly in Modo, which later was released as Mesh Fusion, providing a fast, reliable and easy to use booleans for subdivision surfaces.

In another demonstration of Mesh Fusion, a while ago, William Vaughan shared some of his experiences with how Mesh Fusion changed the way he thought about modeling, in the post Modo Mesh Fusion Introduction, How Mesh Fusion Will Change the Way You Model.

there were also some really good examples released by the Foundry, showing the complexity of the models that can be created in no time at all with the post Modo Mesh Fusion – Making Booleans Cool.
