James Chiny (hypoly) has posted a free little plugin for Cinema 4D that is simple in form, but useful in practice. The PointCluster Plugin for C4D can assist when creating point clusters on objects.

It can rig up point cluster deformers on polygonal objects, deformers and even splines- Simply select the vertices that you wish to effect, and then choose the PointCluster plugin. You can check out the C4D PointCluster Plugin over at HypolyLabs here.
