Create a Fur-Bound Bigfoot Walk Cycle in C4D

FXChannel House takes a look at creating a fur covered walk cycle in Cinema 4D making good use of the plaMATE plugin to convert animation to a point level.

How to make the Sasquatch (bigfoot) in Cinema4D Using PLAYMATE plugin to bake the Character animation

Inspired by the old MTV ad created by Matt Pyke of Universal Everything, the tutorial covers creating a fur covered character in C4D, showing how to better manage the scene while working with vast amounts of Hair and fur.

plaMATE is a freely available plugin for C4D that will allow you to bake your animation into the vertices of the models that you are working with. Typically the last stage before render, placing animation on a vertex level helps not only to speed the scene up by no longer continually calculating deformers and the like, but also will offer a nice and clean file for the renderer as well.

In this case, it becomes important to bake out animation, as the hair and simulation for the rest of the scene will become taxing as you are working to finalize the character. If you are not familiar, tcaStudios has some great tools for C4D, with some very useful tools for production and workflow. Check out plaMATE for C4D here.
