Making hair fall out is probably not something that you would use everyday. Yet, it is a pretty interesting effect. If you are using guide hairs in Cinema 4D, you can easily set them to fall out on their own, or by shaking the object they are placed on, with a few settings changes.
Here, Creative Director Mate Steinforth, walks us through those settings in C4D. The effect only works with guides and not render hairs. Still, if you go into the hair object of the model, and disable fixed roots, then change the simulation setting to unroot guides, as well as the hold roots settings in dynamics, you can have a really cool effect where the hair will just fall out. This can make the hair fall out on its own, with the dynamic forces in the scene, or by shaking the object.
