Brian Horgan has updated his onion skinning ghost tool for Maya, which allows you to easily create ghosted outlines of your animated character in the Maya viewport.

bhGhost now has a create tracker function. This will allow you to quickly set up a point that can be traced in the viewport. Perfect for adding polish to the arcs for a character’s nose or any other part you with to visualize in your animation.
