Using C4D’s Backlight Shader to Create a Lampshade Effect

By March 2, 2015No Comments

SioPio walks though how to get the semi-tramissive look that one would see in a lampshade, in Cinema 4D. Using the Backlight shader, SioPio shows how to achieve the look of light transmission through a lampshade.

The backlight shader in C4D allows you to apply the shader to a flat object only, which should work well for a lampshade. The technique used here is a combination of a practical effect, and a cheat to get the light transmission through the lampshade object.
