DGDM has added new support for both V-Ray and Mental Ray in its SLiB Browser, a Maya Plugin that provides an easy way to use the SLiB Shaders or to build up own libraries. When first released, the SLiB system was specifically for the RedShift Renderer, as well as the add-on shader libraries.
The SLiB Shaders rely heavily on real world Materials
Now the SLiB Browser plugin also has support for mental ray and v-ray materials, making it and ideal solution for storing and accessing your shader libraries in Maya. The SLiB Browser was built to improve the way that you work with materials in a Maya scene.
Along side the new support for mental ray and V-Ray libraries and shaders, DGDM has also released their SLIB Metal vol. 1 shaders for V-Ray and mental ray. The architectural metal material library contains 142 real world metal materials for Maya in your pick of mental ray or v-ray versions.
The metal pack is really meant for architectural work and the like – being that the library consists of a new and clean look for the shaders.
Keep in mind that you don’t have to have the Maya plugin to use the Metal Vol. 1 pack, the plugin simply allows you quick access and searching capabilities to your shader library. The shaders are completely customizable, use seamless textures, and DGDM offers free updates to the library, once purchased.
