Kraken has been used in production for the last year, and a release is imminent – Fabric Engine will be doing a full presentation of Kraken at their Siggraph user group on Tuesday August 11, with a release on or around Siggraph 2015.

Fabric Engine is a creation platform that lets anyone to build tools and applications that can be used in pipelines for VFX, Games, and Visualization. Fabric Engine has a visual programming system called Canvas, that lets artists and developers take advantage of an engine that can handle multithreading and GPU computing.

Here, project leader Eric Thivierge (from Hybride) shows some updates in Fabric Engine Kraken and he put together a few videos, which looks at Kraken’s math library refactoring and the new configuration system for customizing the rig builds, and the new nodal user interface and the new solvers we ship with.
