Autodesk Introduces The Stingray 3D Game Engine

By August 4, 2015One Comment

Autodesk has taken the wraps off of their new endeavor, the Stingray 3D Game Engine with some short videos showing off the engine’s features. Stingray will be available to game developers starting August 19, 2015, with Stingray being added to the Autodesk Maya LT Desktop Subscription customers as part of their current subscription.

Stingray is the result of Autodesk’s acquisition of Bitsquid, some time last year. The idea behind the Stingray 3D Game engine is to offer a higher level of interoperability between the game engine and Autodesk’s content creation applications.

Stingray will make it easier for artists and developers to build their 3D content from Maya, Maya LT, and 3DS Max, with live linked cameras, one click asset updating, and shared materials.
