Cult of Rig Details Compiling C++ Plugins for Maya

Raffaele Fragapane Shows Tips and Tricks for Compiling C++ Plugins for Autodesk Maya.

Perhaps you are at a point where you are making C++ plugins for Maya, or maybe you’d like to learn how. Even if you are not interested in creating your own, often Maya plugins may come in an uncompiled state. So if you want to use the plugin, you are expected to compile it yourself. Either way, Cult of Rig Raffaele Fragapane details the process of compiling plugins for Maya.

The mini-series (of 14 videos) goes deep into why, how and what can go wrong. Even if your intent is not to write plugins for Maya, this is still an informative series according to Fragapane. “…maybe you know a little bit of scripting, and you’re comfortable editing text files, so you understand loops and replacing variables and stuff like that — but you don’t intend to begin writing high-performance plugins in Maya, there’s a wealth of plugins out there that are worth looking at,” Raffaele says.

Raffaele Fragapane is the Performance Technology Supervisor at Animal Logic, (@ThE_JacO) and runs The Cult of Rig, a live stream diving deep into rigging processes in Maya.
