Check Out this Public beta for a Maya VR Plugin

VR-Plugin enters Beta 3 of their VR-Plugin for Maya letting you work in Maya using a Rift or Vive.

Whether you feel that VR merely is a craze or here to stay, there are still many choices around to create content using virtual reality. Some even work with industry standard DCC’s letting you model and animate for 3D in 3D. One such bridge from VR Plugin has reached a new milestone entering the 3rd stage public beta.

The Maya plugin is still in active development but is highly usable with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. You can download and try out the plugin as part of their public beta. “It’s already a fully-featured, stable, and smooth-running Virtual Reality extension,” the plugin team notes. The latest beta offers improvements with 3D animation, modeling, sculpting, texturing and rendering and serves the native features of Autodesk Maya.

Creating in Maya using VR gives a whole new dimension. The Gamepad input is suited for smooth camera animations; only the recording feature is exclusive to the VR-Plugin Professional License. Visit VR-Plugin.com to learn more.
