Using dice as an example, Maxon’s Glenn Frey offers a couple of Volume Builder quick tips if you are working in R20. The two tips involve working with Intersect and the Perfect Primitive feature in the volume modeling tool in C4D.
Although the shape of the die looks to be complicated, there is a straightforward solution. The die mostly takes on the form of a sphere that has cutouts from all sides. Knowing this you can use the perfect primitive shape, and the intersect function to carve out the shape of dice.
