You Can Use Maya Assets to Quickly Share Attributes

Rigging Dojo shares a quick tip that shows how to share attributes by using Assets in Maya.

There are a few ways that you can share attributes across different objects in Autodesk Maya. You can create a setup that uses shared shape nodes, or you can use proxy attributes, and as Rigging Dojo shows, you can also use the asset system in Maya.

The tip comes based on a twitter conversation that built on a tip from Sophie Brennan, Advanced Character TD at Insomniac Games (@wuffles) and Daniel J Klug, Animation Supervisor at Walt Disney Animation Studios (@danieljklug). Rigging Dojo shows another method whereby you can quickly allocate attributes by creating an asset in Maya. Once you have an asset you are free to publish attributes across anything that belongs to that asset. Nice tips here.
