Ryan Gordon shares a plugin that lets you use Quadriflow right from Cinema 4D.
Maybe you’re a tinkerer and looking for a method to instantly quadrangulate meshes from sculpts or from high-density 3D scanning. If that sounds like you, then you should check out this new plugin from software engineer and 3D dilettante Ryan Gordon. The plugin lets you use Quadraflow (A scalable and robust method for quadrangulation) right from Cinema 4D.
Wrote a quick plugin to enable people to use Quadriflow from Cinema 4d. Windows only for now. Get it here https://t.co/uKbdQ6lzDJ

“I compiled the binary from a source from their GitHub. The plugin exports the selected object to .obj runs the binary with that file as a parameter and then imports the output obj,” Ryan says, describing his efforts. Quadraflow is a method for making quad meshes that came out of the white paper: “QuadriFlow: A Scalable and Robust Method for Quadrangulation” ingwei Huang, Yichao Zhou, Matthias Niessner, Jonathan Shewchuk and Leonidas Guibas.
