SpeedCut is a New Toolset for Hard-Surface Modeling in Maya

I know what you must be thinking. “Are there not too many tools out there for working with Boolean operation in Maya better and faster?” Well, yes, there are quite a few. Now you can add another to that list. Senior CG Artist Joe Wu posts a new modeling toolset to speed up creating hard-surface models in Maya: SpeedCut.

SpeedCut lets you work in a non-destructive way and makes it easier to adjust the shape of the operations while you are working. The modeling tools also add controls so you can bake and restore operations quickly. SpeedCut works similar to Blender’s new Boolean workflow. You can download SpeedCut for free here. Keep in mind that modeling tool is still a work in progress.
