3D Models World shows how to make a 2D image appear 3D with Camera Projections in Maya.

There is a fast way to translate a 2D scene into 3D motion. It’s a method called camera mapping, or camera projection. Lots of applications have this type of feature, including After Effects, C4D, and others. In this tutorial, 3D Models World offers some insights into working with camera projections in Maya to translate a 2D scene into what seems like a 3D one.

“we will be converting a still image into fully animated camera projection in Maya and Arnold,” the tutorial author mentions. “The approach will work for any version of Maya and also any rendering engine you are using, including Maya software render.”
