Brian Horgan shares a free tool, speedGUI, that can help you control the speed of your animation playback in Maya.
The latest versions of Maya introduced a new cache system for animation playback so that Playblasting scenes can be a thing of the past. While you can easily change the speed of your scene playback in Maya, none of the methods are very “instant.” A new tool from Brian Horgan sets to change that. speedGUI is a little (and free) tool that can help animators experiment as they work.
The tool makes it fast and easy to change the speed of the playback in Maya. Now animators can visualize the scene at different rates without breaking the flow of work. The video covers installation and how to use the new tool.
