Get OS-Style Window Switching Right in Maya

Switch between open Maya windows with this free script.

I’ve never really thought about it, but what if there were a better way to manage all the open windows in Autodesk Maya? What if you could switch between them as you can with OS apps? A new tool from Tomohara (tm8r) lets you cycle and switch between Maya panes like Alt+Tab in Windows OS.

Drag and drop the MEL file into the Maya viewport to install it, then press Ctrl+Shift+T to launch the tool. Once you’ve done that, you can cycle and select any of the Maya windows you have open. Note that the script only works with Windows OS.
