Arvid Schneider shows how to deal with procedural shading challenges working with a few different examples.
Arvid Schneider dives into some of the shading challenges he faced while working on different assets. His two-hour video has a look at creating bubble wrap with Arnold, a pile of gum, and orange, all of course procedurally.
Arnold Nodes for Procedural Shading.
I know that a two-hour video sounds extensive, but this is well worth the watch.
It’s a replay from Arvid only working “live” solving problems as they arise. It was barely ten minutes in when I learned about Arnold nodes that I had no idea existed. It’s also valuable to watch how Arvid works methodically, taking most of the guesswork out of the process itself.
