Maya has a ton of settings and preferences for the average user. You can also change virtually anything in Maya because most tools run on Maya’s embedded language, MEL.

While settings and preferences are a great way to add your tweaks, the UserSetup.mel file allows you to customize parts of Maya that aren’t available any other way.
