Multipass Rendering and Compositing Techniques with Nuke

The two components to a rendering and post-production workflow are creating AOVs and render passes and then re-combining those into the image. A new tutorial from Reza Sarkamari walks us through how to set up Arnold AOVs inside of Autodesk Maya and combine those again using an industry-standard workflow.

The tutorial covers things like using the aiMattShader to create a shadow-cathing render and other most used AOVs in Arnold. “Then we take all the passes into Nukeand we use a variety of techniques to blend them all together within an industry-friendly workflow.” Reza notes. “I squeezed in a lot of tips and tricks so I am sure there’s something for everyone.”
