An Easy Way to Make Glitch Artifacts in Ae

Creative Dojo shows how to use Fractal Noise to create glitch artifacts.

VinhSon Nguyen (Creative Dojo) has a new tutorial that shows how you can easily make glitch artifacts by using the Fractal Noise effect as the main driver in After Effects. A couple of expressions help to animate the result, too.

One is an “expanded” wiggle expression within an introductory If statement. “Use this technique to tweak it to taste by adding more distortion, adjusting colors, playing with blending modes, and using multiple instances.” Nguyen mentions.

The free Dojo Glitch script can add more detail like chromatic aberration and glitches. Download Glitch Script here.
