A while ago, Athanasios Pozantzis (known as the Nose Man) had a little tutorial that showed how to optimize the number of points in a spline in Cinema 4D. Now, a new and free plugin from Pozantzis, called Chamfergen, offers a way to create champers and point optimizations on splines in C4D easily.

Chamfergen is a spline generator that can take any existing spline as input and lets you add a procedurally based chamfer on the corners. The plugin also enables you to optimize points or generate procedural outlines. If you find yourself working with complex splines quite often, this plugin will make your life much more straightforward.
