How to Create Complex Patterns With Arnold Noise and Cell Noise

Lee Griggs runs through how to create detailed patterns using Cell Noise in Arnold.

Noise shaders are always a great way to add variation and drive specific attributes procedurally from within shader networks. This tutorial from Autodesk’s Arnold’s rendering specialist, Lee Griggs, shows how you can create all kinds of crazy patterns with a couple of simple connections.

“It is possible to create various effective patterns, for example, different types of corrosion, foam, landscapes, alien skin or just organic patterns.” Griggs says. “This tutorial demonstrates the types of patterns possible when setting different attributes with the Arnold Noise and Cell Noise shaders.”

Pretty cool!
