Lee Griggs shows how to render a laser sword with Arnold GPU that uses Atmospheric Volume and Imagers.
This new demonstration from Autodesk’s Arnold Rendering Specialist Lee Griggs shows how to make and render a laser sword using Arnold GPU.
Griggs uses a Spot Light in Maya and makes it visible in the render through an Atmospheric Volume, while the glow for the laser sword uses an Arnold Imager to complete the effect. Imagers in Arnold are a great way to add post-rendering effects like glows, lens effects, and Light Mixing after the fact.
