Nikolaus Schatz SHows How to Model and Render the Classic Moog Synth Knob With Cinema 4D.

Nerding out on a few different levels, 3D artist Nikolaus Schatz shows how you can model, light and render an iconic Moog Synthesiser knob. The knob has a unique shape that can pose some modeling challenges that can easily be worked out with a little of some pre-model planning.

Subdivision surfaces offer an easy way to soften the edges of the knob. Nikolaus shows how to apply surface material and render the KNob using C4D’s Physical Renderer. Schatz has quite a few tutorials like this one, check out some of his others, here.
