How to Make Fully Procedural Realistic Wood in C4D And Octane

By August 30, 2021No Comments

New Plastic shows how to create a realistic wood material using Octane Nodes in C4D.

This new Octane tutorial, Guy from New Plastic, shows how to make a highly realistic wood material without even using a single image map. Using only Octane procedural nodes, the tutorial covers creating a base from an OSL shader called MAWoodGrain.

In the OSL shader by Michel Adres, Guy shows how to use it to its full potential and then layers up details on top of it to get the most detailed and realistic look possible.

“Again, we’ll going to test the limits of Octane’s node system and see how realistic and organic we can get with nothing but code and math.”
