There are many ways to create fluid like effects in Maya, and at times some might be more practical than others. Demonstrating various methods for using nCloth for liquid effects in Maya, Pat Imrie adds a tutorial looking at creating sticky and viscous fluids using nCloth, in this example he creates a sticky saliva attached to some teeth, that will stretch and flex as the jaw is animated.

More Ncloth as a fluid based shenanigans going on here. This is the last in a series of tutorials I wanted to do on the subject

Pat has also looked at using nCloth for creating a quick and dirty fluid effect for liquids that slosh around in a glass, foregoing Maya Fluids or even Maya nParticles.

Using simple nConstraints which will allow the nCloth to be anchored to the teeth giving a stretching effect from the nCloth geometry giving it a sticky gum like appearance. With a few setting tweaks for the nCloth attributes, and you are able to quickly fine-tune the simulation to something more fluid like.
