Jamie Hamel-Smith takes a look at creating a snapshot of a model’s UVs in Cinema 4D that can be exported to Photoshop for texturing.
This tip takes a quick look at one of my favorite Cinema 4D texturing features; the Create UV Mesh command
Jamie shows how to use the UV Mesh command in Cinema 4D, and provides some tips inspired from his own workflow for exporting UV templates that can be used in other applications such as Photoshop for painting texture maps, and bringing that back in to match the original model. Check out the tutorial for Creating a UV Mesh Layer in Cinema here, which is kind of in line with Jamie’s UV mapping basics series, A Beginner’s Guide To UV Mapping in Cinema 4D that you can find here.
