How to Use C4D Fields for Falloff Modeling

iDani shows how to get Modo-like falloff modeling in Cinema 4D R20

Fields are a great feature in C4D R20, and they can help with a lot of different areas in 3D. We’ve seen them used for creating selections to distressing type. Check out this short quick tip from Daniel Mozbäuchel (iDani) who shows that you can use Fields to develop a falloff modeling situation, much like the one found in Modo, or like soft selections in Maya.

Using Fields, you can set up a vertex weight for objects and then use the field as a falloff for transformations like scale rotate and move. iDani shows an example workflow for altering the shape of a complex wheel rim using the falloff technique.
