Free Smart Posterizer script lets you apply a variable and controllable time posterization in After Effects.
Do you have an animation that is on the 2’s? Or does it bounce around? Maybe it’s on the 2’s in some parts, but on the 1’s for others. If you have an animation created with a variable frame rate, other things in the scene may be at different rates, like textures effects and other animation. AE tools like Posterize Time work great, but it can only apply a fixed frame rate. It doesn’t even consider animation that begins on the wrong odd or even frame numbers. This is where Smart Posterizer excels.
A script for After Effects that automatically limits the frame rate of layers and properties to match a rendered animated source
Smart Posterizer scans the source animation for frames that change and then allows you to posterize any property so that it updates with the source animation. Simply copy the script to your ScriptUI folder, access the panel from the ‘Window’ menu. Smart Posterizer is a script that you can get for free, created by Ian Pinder.
