Marc Chevry’s TieUp Houdini asset lets you create ties of ribbons and ropes instantly.
Some nice details to have in 3D models are the kind that dictates how things are put together. If you can afford it in the poly-count, adding things like screws, nails and fasteners just make things look better. IF you find yourself creating binds and ties in a lot of your work, then have a look at Marc Chevry’s TieUp asset for Houdini.
TieUp simplifies and drastically speeds up the process for creating ties on 3D models. The Asset lets you choose between two different kinds of ties, either ropes or ribbons, both of which you can customize to your liking. TieUp works interactively, meaning that you do not have to simulate anything for the end result. The tool lets you set the thickness, number of braids, twist value, bevels and a lot more of the ties’ attributes. The asset features:
- Interactive edition: no simulation involved
- 2 models of ties: ropes and ribbons
- Customizable Ties: thickness, braid numbers, twist value, bevel,…
- Local selection: speed up interactivity by selecting active polygons on the source mesh
- UVs are generated
